Happiness and Joy During Finals Week

Well, today was fun! I got a car, and I got to go see the pretty Rock City Enchanted Garden Lights. I love the nursery rhymes and stuff. I had to say goodbye to all my students last week. I was so sad. Then I came back and worked hard on all my final projects until I was done at 3 am. Ok, so I took 2 hours off for my party, but that’s it. Anyways, I’m very excited, cuz I finally found an apartment! I’m moving out of the dorm this week, and I have a cool apartment to live in when I come back next semester. Woohoo!

hectic, happy day

Today I got my class to myself all day long! My very own first graders—sort of. My teacher was absent today, so I got thrown in with just the barest understanding of what to cover. So I may have done the wrong reader and stuff, but you know—who cares? I made it through the day, and I had fun. There were those two kids that I wanted to execute for their evilness. If I hear one more, “but he did this to me first!” I’m going to screeeeeam. When I have children, that sentence will not be in their vocabulary. I will beat the crap out of them simply for saying it. That is no excuse.
Overall, though, I feel like I’ll be such a capable, wonderful teacher. I just need to work out a discipline system that works—and that I’m comfortable with. I really don’t like the one I have to use right now. Oh well, I only have to deal with it once more! Just think, I get to celebrate my 21st birthday on Thursday in a class of 7 year olds! So cool! Better than the drunk thing anyday, in my book!
